First and foremost, Shawn has a huge, giving, loving heart.  She is a dynamic soul with equal parts free-spirit, commitment, and love!  She has a beautiful ability to see the true perfection and authentic nature in all people, a gift that she says, 'Allows me to help people uproot old patterns, locate blind spots and create the most amazing life and business they can conjure up!'

 

Shawn’s entrepreneurial plans were hatched while working as a gymnastics coach, finishing her PhD, and interning for a local psychologist. While she did love her time with the amazing young gymnasts (who coincidentally are exactly the type A personality types of business owners and clients that Shawn coaches today!), she found herself frustrated at not being able to change and improve things, and her ideas fell on deaf ears. Then, in 1998, while finishing graduate school, Shawn made the decision that changed her life forever.

 

“I finally realized that I should be an entrepreneur! Honestly, I was just too Pollyanna to think I couldn't do it!" And so she did!

 

As Shawn was completing her dissertation, two professors had just returned from the very first ever "life coaching" conference in history. And in tow, they had approximately 100 hours of cassette tape lecture that they were willing to share! 

 

"Let's just say, it was LOVE at first Listen!" Shawn hoovered through every hour 3x each. By the end of her 300 hours of coaching immersion, she had fallen in love with the idea of helping other women become happy and successful, and the decision to become a budding coach and business owner was sealed! 

 

She finished school, and quit both jobs. Without a mentor or coach to 

guide her (at first), Shawn imm-ersed herself in books and online courses on marketing, spirituality, business, coaching, and success. With her computer and passion in hand, she discovered how to begin building a business. 

 

Hitting Bottom and Bouncing Back…

 

Although happy at being free from a traditional job, this was a difficult period for the budding entrepreneur. She had trouble finding clients, didn’t know how to market herself, and coaching wasn't even coming close to paying the bills. “I remember stumbling upon a statistic stating 

that most businesses fail within the first year or two, and thinking, is this going to be me? I don't want to fail!"

 

Shawn hung in there in spite of her mounting doubt. The thought of giving up her independence was too painful to bear. Today, her perseverance illustrates that you can find success if you really want it. “I trusted that this was my path. I listened to my heart, searched for the right support, and knew that this was what I was meant to do. Soon, I figured it out.”

 

And that’s when her business started to move in the right direction.
 

Shawn’s perseverance, dedication to learning and a whole-hearted desire to help and serve her clients, AND soon proficiency at marketing her business landed her great clients and projects with prestigious organizations, such as UPS, WBENC, Coke-a-Cola, and more. Though Shawn's niche is with business and start ups with revenues between 0-10 million. 

 

Though, the best was yet to come...

 

From Lost and unhappy… to utter Joy, Passion, and Freedom… to Entrepreneur, Consultant and Coach.

 

The moment when Shawn realized that her risks would really be rewarded was when other women she met started asking her about her business success with questions like,

 

“How do you market yourself? How do you get clients? How do you have time for yourself and your family? How do you maintain a good love relationship? How do you have time to take care of yourself? How do you know what to focus on? How do you keep going when you feel like giving up? It felt truly beautiful and rewarding."

 

Shawn's following gained momentum, and her expertise grew into a lifestyle design coaching company focused on success strategies for for high-achieving women. Her offerings expanded into courses, programs, seminars, company retreats, and coaching. She has devoted her entire venture to helping other women INTENTIONALLY DESIGN a fabulous life (body, mind and spirit), the romantic relationship of her dreams, and to take their business to the next level.

 

Shawn's business building and lifestyle design insight + her genuine  warm spirit are big draws on the stage. She hosts events that change lives, and her workshops are unlike any other out there, combining her innovative business success strategies with advice for leadership and personal growth.

Over the last 19 years, Shawn has advised and helped nurture the lives and businesses of many leaders thriving today.
